The Centre of Medical Rehabilitation and five provincial rehabilitation centres have clinics every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
At these clinics patients can come to be assessed by a multidisciplinary team of specialists who decide on the best course of action for future treatment. Assessments are also carried out on an irregular basis through the new COPE Connect project in eight provinces throughout Lao PDR.
COPE subsidizes the costs associated with treatment. This includes the cost of travelling to the centre in Vientiane, and the costs associated with surgery, manufacturing devices, physiotherapy and rehabilitation. COPE subsidises all costs at all centres associated with accommodation and food whilst people receive treatment.
For COPE the most important aspect of our work is to work with people to achieve the best outcome possible for them.
